Winfred Cross

Winfred Cross, 89, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away peacefully on June 1st, 2016. Winfred was a WWII veteran and went on to be a carpenter for TVA for many years. He was of the Jehovah’s Witness belief.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Conway and Lillie Cross; daughter, Diana King; siblings, Eva Cantrell, Ruth Geren, Edith Carlton, Dottie Haney, D.R. Cross, Avery Cross, and Buford Cross.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 66 years, Peggy Guinn Cross; children, Dennis Cross (Sherry) and Dexter Cross (Geraldine); 12 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and two siblings, Lila Haney and George Cross.
A celebration of life service is planned for 1:00pm on Saturday June 4th, 2016 at Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.
A visitation period will be held two hours prior from 11:00am till the 1:00pm service time at the funeral home.
