Winell grew up in a small town with a big family and took pride in where she came from. She worked for many years in manufacturing and was known for her strong work ethic. Having only completed the eighth grade, she faced life with determination and resilience, overcoming hardships and challenges with quiet strength and appreciation. She was a testament to perseverance. She had a deep love for country music, enjoying both writing and singing throughout her life. She even recorded a few albums and enjoyed singing before small crowds.

A woman of strong and abiding faith, Winell was a devoted Christian who carried her beliefs with quiet strength throughout her life. She found comfort in God's promises and lived with the assurance of His presence, holding close to the words of Scripture. Her faith guided her throughout life and gave her peace.

Winell had a gift for keeping things in order - even down to planning her own memorial service. She was rarely seen without her makeup on and her hair fixed, always presenting herself with care and confidence. She was also a wonderful storyteller, known for sharing stories that could make you laugh, reflect, and feel present in the moment.

She had a vibrant personality and a love for bright colors that reflected her joyful spirit. Winell also had a special place in her heart for her dogs, caring for many cherished pets over the years.

A special thank you to the Hickory Valley Senior Living Community, The American House Shallowford, and Gentiva Hospice for the care they helped provide in her final years. A special thank you to Chaplain Judy Scott who spent countless hours sitting and reflecting about life and faith with Winell.
