October 14, 1945 — May 6, 2025

Wilson "Lynn" Haynes, age 79, of Spring City, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.

Lynn was born October 14, 1945 in Vandalia, Illinois, the son of Isaac Wilson and Grace Juanita (Bennyhoff) Haynes. Lynn was a proud graduate of the University of Missouri - Rolla. He worked as an electrical engineer for the City of St. Louis, Missouri, before completing his graduate studies and working as an environmental engineer for both the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where he was admired for his dedication and integrity.

Lynn was married to his first wife, Sharron Kathleen (Johnson) Haynes, for 52 wonderful years before her passing in 2019. Together, they raised two children: Suzanne Haynes and Jonathan Haynes (Sonja). In 2021, Lynn found love again and married Diani Lee (Taylor) Haynes. Diani brought joy and companionship to Lynn's later years and embraced his family as her own.

In addition to his wife Diani and his children, Lynn is survived by his sister, Twyla Denning of Vandalia, Illinois; his granddaughter, Ansley Zora (Zach) of Tacoma, Washington; grandson J. Britton Haynes, Jr. (Christina) of San Diego, California; and aunt, Joyce Black of Farina, Illinois.

Lynn made friends easily, loved playing card games, and enjoyed boating on Watts Bar Lake. He will be remembered for his love of family and his deep commitment to his community, where he was a member of Spring City Methodist Church and spent countless hours volunteering in support of the Pine Grove Volunteer Fire Department.

A memorial service will be held on May 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Spring City Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Spring City Methodist Church or Pine Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
