William Kins "Kinny" Hooper Jr.

William Kins "Kinny" Hooper Jr. age 65, passed away peacefully in his childhood home on August 22, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.

Kinny was born on June 20, 1961 in Meridian, MS to Mable and Bill Hooper. At the age of 4 Kinny and his family officially planted their roots in Cleveland, TN. A 1979 graduate of Bradley Central High school, Kinny made a name for himself on and off the football field. Some may even say he was the best athlete to come out of Bradley County. After he graduated, he went to play football for the University of Mississippi, where he continued to be a stand out star. After graduating from Ole Miss, Kinny spent a few years back in his home town of Cleveland, where he played professional softball, before he moved to North Carolina to start his career. Kinny had already accomplished many things in his life, you would need to write a book to name them all but if you were to ask him, his greatest accomplishment was when he started his family. There was nothing in the world he was more proud of than being a dad to his three kids, Sidney, Madison and Kins. He was the most devoted dad and THE example of what holding that title means. Kinny loved many things including being a coach to not only his kids but many others, The Bradley Bears, the Ole Miss Rebels, the Hiwassee river, hunting, fishing and AC/DC. Even though the last few years were not easy for him and he fought a tough battle, Kinny never lost his funny and kind spirit. That is one of the things we will miss most about him. Although we are heartbroken, we find so much peace in knowing he has been made new in the arms of Jesus.

He is preceded in death by William Kins Hooper Sr. (Father) and Mable Virginia Hooper (mother)

He is survived by his children; Sidney Hooper, Madison Hooper (Stuart), and Kins Hooper (Molly). His siblings; Greg Hooper (Connie), and Lori Hutchins (Chris). His Nephews; Alexander Hooper (Michelle), Hayes Hooper (Kayla), and Garrett Hutchins along with many special friends and family.

His kids would also like to say a special thank you to Greg, Connie, Lori, Chris, Garrett and everyone else for all they have done for their dad in the past 4 years. You all went above and beyond to make his time easier. We love you all!

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Candies Creek Baptist Church at 6:00 pm with Pastor Stan Gibson officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm prior to the service.
