Wayne Wright Benson, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2026, while at The Waters of Sweetwater. He was born on January 28, 1931, to the late Glen and Hilda Benson.

Wayne was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Niota, Tennessee. He was a hardworking farmer who took great pride in his work and found joy in the simple things in life. Wayne loved riding horses and, at times, enjoyed expressing his creativity through various crafts. He lived a life marked by dedication and a deep love for his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Benson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 69 years, Donnie Benson; his two sons, Mike Benson (Chris) and Tracy Benson (Craig); and his sister, Carolyn Barnett.

At this time, there are no formal services planned for Wayne.

Wayne will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of a long and well-lived life will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
