Virginia Wooden

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virginia Lue Wooden, who peacefully left us on July 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 7, 1939, in Cleveland, TN, she was the cherished daughter of the late James and Katherine Millard. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clinton Wooden.

She is survived by her two sisters, Annie Miller (Jimmie) and Glenda Geren, as well as her loving children, Cynthia Wooden Bryant (Harold Jr), James Wooden (Angela), and Jonathan Wooden (Elisha). Virginia's family also includes her adored grandchildren: Andrew Bryant (Emily), Amanda Massengill (Dewaun), Abigail Carr (Kevin), Jesse Wooden, Clinton Wooden, Austin Melton (Makenzie), and Katie Melton. She is further survived by her nephews, Jeff Miller and Jason Geren, and her nieces, Leslie Gibson (Scott) and Carrie Geren.

Virginia had a heart of gold and was known for her kindness and passion for life. She loved sewing, painting, and learning something new every day. She was the go-to person for solutions and offered her unconditional love to everyone around her.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7pm on Friday July 18th at the Ridge Chapel of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311 with Pastors Mark Strickland and Cody Harris officiating. Her family will recieve friends from 5pm until the 7pm service.
