Vincent R. Orgovan

Vincent R. Orgovan, 95, a resident of Cleveland, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, October 11, 2022, at Life Care Center of Cleveland. He was born in Uniontown, PA on May 10, 1927, a son of the late Charles John Orgovan & Julia Madeline (Kozak) Orgovan. Vincent served in the Navy at the end of WWII for 14 months achieving the rank of Yeoman 3rd class. He was a career bookkeeper working for several companies including Verizon. He was an avid “fix it” man with a passion for helping the less fortunate. For many years, he volunteered his time and talents to the Gabriel Project Cluster of Montgomery County, Maryland whose mission is to help women in crisis pregnancies and their children. Vincent would refurbish cribs to be given as gifts to new mothers. At church, he was a Lector and sang in the choir. He was a long-time member of the Knight of Columbus and was an Arimathean, assisting at funeral Masses.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Vincent is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Gloria (Medwith) Orgovan, four children (Vince, Cathy, John, and Joe), 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A funeral mass is planned for Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the St. Therese Catholic Church located at 900 Clingan Ridge Drive in Cleveland, TN with the Father Mike Nolen officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM in the church narthex.

The interment and military honors will follow the mass in the church columbarium.
