Vickey Jeanine Goodner, age 66, passed away on March 14, 2026, in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Vickey was raised in Birchwood, Tennessee, where she developed a deep love for family, nature, and creativity that stayed with her throughout her life. She spent many years working as a janitor in local elementary schools, where she took pride in her work and quietly helped care for the places where children learned and grew.
Vickey was an incredibly gifted artist and one of the most creative people you could ever meet. She had a special talent for seeing beauty in the world around her. She loved tending to her flower gardens and was known to have a true green thumb. The color green was her favorite, and it seemed fitting-it reflected her love for growing things and for the peaceful beauty of nature.
She also had a soft spot for animals, especially cats. Her beloved cat, Willy Mayes, held a very special place in her heart. One of Vickey's favorite places to visit was the Smoky Mountains, where she enjoyed the quiet beauty of the mountains and the time spent with those she loved.
More than anything else, Vickey loved her family. Her greatest pride and joy in life were her four grandchildren, who meant the world to her. She cherished every moment spent with them and loved watching them grow.
Vickey was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Gene Neely; her sisters, Ruby Roark, Shirley Harden, and Judy Harden; and her niece, Joy Massingill.
She is survived by her children, Josh (Tanya) Goodner, Joanie Goodner, and Sara Goodner. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Cheyenne (Matthew) Goodner, Chloe Goodner, Rylen Norman, and Peyton Walker, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Vickey will be remembered for her creativity, her love of nature and animals, and the deep love she had for her family. Her memory will live on in the gardens she planted, the art she created, and the many lives she touched.
A Celebration of Vickey's life will be held on Saturday March 21, 2026 at Harrison Bay under Shelter 1 starting at 2:00 pm.
