Vernon Cranfield

Vernon Uvon Cranfield, age 72, passed away at 5:40 p.m., on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. At his passing, Vernon was surrounded by loving family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mildred Cranfield, granddaughter Savannah (Katie) Cranfield and sister, Jewell Massengill.

He is survived by Joy, his wife, of 52 years, and, daughter, Jennifer (Jason) Mabry. Grandchildren, Hanna Cranfield, Jacob (Alyssa) Cranfield, Megan Mabry, and Logan Mabry. Five Great-grandchildren, Caralina, Charlee Nell, Taylon, Sadie, and Waylon. He is also survived by his brother, Zeno Cranfield, sisters, Frances Young, Margaret (Larry) Farmer, Lola Davis, Delila (Joe) Allison, brother, Wallace (Melinda) Cranfield, sister, Jane (Randy) Bishop and brother, Phillip Cranfield. Several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Vernon attended Birchwood School. After leaving school, he worked as an upholsterer for several years at Cook Manufacturing. He worked as a U-cell machine operator at Bendix (Honeywell) before retiring after 28 years in 2005.

Memorial service will be held at Grasshopper Church of God on Friday, June 13th at 11:00 a.m. with Church Pastor Jim Gann officiating.

Companion Funeral and Cremation Service is handling Vernon's cremation arrangements.
