“A woman of faith, love, and grace”

Vera Mae Fletcher, age 81, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Cecil Fletcher; her son, Randall; her brothers, Doug Brown and Wayne Brown; and her sister, Debrah Hankins.

Vera was retired from a lifetime of hard work in house cleaning, where she was known for her dedication and kindness. In her later years, she found joy in the simple things — listening to The Detty Sisters sing, hearing the sermons of David Jeremiah and Jonathan Cahn, and spending quiet time with her word searches.

A true woman of faith, Vera was a God-fearing soul who loved Jesus deeply. She was full of love, forgiveness, and a gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her children Vince Brown (Laura Brown), Paul Brown (Billie Brown), and Amanda Carter (Mitchell Carter); her grandchildren Chris Fletcher (Faith Fletcher), Kayla Walker (Taylor Walker), Taylor Brown, and Gill Brown; as well as seven great-grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Vera’s legacy of faith, love, and family will live on in all who were blessed to know her. Her unwavering belief in God and her kindness toward others will forever remain an example to those she leaves behind.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family at a later time.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
