Tommy Trotter

September 2, 1948 — July 15, 2025

Tommy Roy Trotter, 76, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Born in Perry, Georgia, September 2, 1948, he was the son of the late William and Texie Trotter. A skilled painter and paper hanger with Procoat, Tommy was known for his steady hands, quiet dedication, and strong work ethic.

Often noted for his striking resemblance to Elvis Presley, Tommy was a man of quiet strength-gentle, warm, and patient. A Christian by faith, he found peace in life's simple blessings: his home, his garden, and the family he cherished.

Tommy loved working with his hands and living close to the land. He spent countless hours gardening, canning vegetables, making homemade wine, and fishing-activities that reflected his self-reliance, love of tradition, and appreciation for nature's rhythm.

He is survived by his wife, Kim Trotter, and his daughters and their families: Tammy (Mark) Presswood, Dr. Tralissa (John) Gazick, Tommie (Rob) Westfield, and Tina (Wes) Inman.

He also leaves behind grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Spencer, Matthew, Taylor, Alex, Gage, Jax, Kiarah, Laney, Levi, Ansley, Lyndy, Stevie, and Fox.

Tommy is fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, Blondee and Ina, and by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Billy, Danny, Jimmy, Johnny, and Ray; and his sisters Mattalee Hammonds, Mildred Key, and Ruth Newberry.

Though some relationships in his life were complex, Tommy expressed love in quiet, enduring ways-through presence, steadiness, and care. He took great pride in his daughters and their families and will be remembered for the calm strength he offered to those around him.

As a reminder of that lasting love, we hold close the words of Romans 8:38-39:

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life... nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Per his wishes, Tommy was cremated. A private family remembrance will be held at a later date. He will be dearly missed and forever loved.
