Timothy Paul "Tim" McKay, 65, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on August 12, 2026. He was born May 14, 1961, in Bradley County, Tennessee, to the late Raymond and Dorothy McKay.

Tim worked for many years at Olin Chemical, where he later retired. He was a member of Red Hill United Methodist Church.

Above all, Tim loved his family. His children and grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, and family was always important to him. He was a sentimental person who treasured memories, traditions, and the people and places that were a part of his life.

Tim had a lifelong love for the outdoors, especially his family's Centennial Farm. Farming was much more than a pastime for him. He loved spending time on the farm and raising his beef cattle, and the farm remained one of the places closest to his heart.

Some of Tim's happiest memories were made on the water and outdoors with his family. He loved Parksville Lake, boating, water skiing, and spending summer weekends camping. When his children were growing up, it was rare for them to be on the boat without friends along for the fun. Tim loved pulling the kids behind the boat-whether they were tubing, knee boarding, or learning to slalom ski-and he was always willing to teach one more child how to ski or kneeboard.

An excellent water skier himself, Tim, was a professional water skier during his late teens and early twenties. His love of the water continued throughout his life and became something he shared with his children, their friends, and eventually his family through many special summers together.

Tim was also talented and creative and enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, including drawing and woodworking. Whether he was working with his hands, tending to the farm, spending a day on the lake, or simply being surrounded by those he loved, Tim found meaning in the things that connected him to family and home.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy McKay.

He is survived by his two children, Meagan McKay Jones and her husband, Jay Jones, and Timothy "PJ" McKay and his husband, Thomas McKay; seven grandchildren, Sterling, Scarlett, Stetson, and Shepherd Jones, and Allan, Zachariah, and Arianna McKay; the mother of his children Lori McKay, two brothers, Ray McKay and Shawn McKay; as well as several nieces and extended family members.

Tim leaves behind many memories of summers on the lake, days spent on the farm, and time shared with family and friends. Those memories, and the traditions he passed along, will remain a lasting part of his family's lives.

The family will have a memorial gathering on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Companion Funeral & Cremation Service Ridge Sanctuary located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN.
