Timothy Ross Hurst

Timothy Ross Hurst, age 67, of Cleveland, passed away on September 11, 2026.

Timothy was a lifelong resident of the Cleveland area and was known for his love of family, friendship, and, above all, his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a loving husband, father, friend, and a proud and devoted "Biddy" to his grandchildren. The love he shared with his grandchildren was truly special, and the memories they made with their Biddy will forever remain in their hearts.

He was an avid bowler and was involved for many years with the local bowling community, where he formed many lasting friendships. Timothy also faithfully served as Chaplain of CATCH Ministry for many years. Through this ministry, he found great joy in serving others, sharing fellowship, and spending time fishing with members of CATCH Ministry and many of his friends.

Foremost in Timothy's life was his relationship with Jesus Christ. He never lost sight of what the Lord had done for him, and he loved sharing his testimony with others. Timothy's faith was the foundation of his life, and he wanted those around him to know the hope, grace, and love he had found in Jesus. His legacy will live on not only through the love he gave to his family and friends, but also through the lives he touched and the message of faith he so openly shared.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Ross Hurst and Virginia Jo Mills Hurst.

Timothy leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 46 years, Gail Hurst; sons, T.J. (Jennifer) Hurst and Tyler Hurst; siblings, Mike (Teresa) Hurst and Kathryn Hurst Motley; and his beloved grandchildren, Elisha Hurst, Blair Hurst, Landon Hurst, and Emma Hurst, who knew him lovingly as "Biddy." He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, along with countless friends whose lives were made better by knowing him.

Though Timothy will be deeply missed, those who loved him can find comfort in the beautiful legacy he leaves behind-a legacy of faith, love, service, friendship, and devotion to his family. His voice may now be silent, but the testimony he shared, the love he gave, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Westwood Baptist Church, located at 4001 Georgetown Rd., Cleveland, TN 37312. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Dr. Steve Smartt officiating.
