Terry "Zero" Jones, age 69 of Chatsworth, GA, entered into eternal peace on May 22,2026 surrounded by loved ones.
A native of Murray County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Johnnie Allison and Elmer "Hot Shot" Jones. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Willie "Bug" Jones and Shelia Mullinax, and his grandson, Taggen Malone.
Terry is survived by his wife Tammy Jones, daughters Brandi(Terry) Gengler and Crystal Jones; grandchildren Stetson Gunnoe, Karly Gengler, and Jaylin Grant; He was awaiting the arrival of his first great-grandchild, Wrenley Gengler; Father David Allison; siblings Jessie Smith, Vickie(Ricky) Conley, and Tony Curtis; special nephews Jeffrey Jones, Shane Mullinax, Darrel Hulett; nieces Angie Flood and Joy Brewster; special in laws Patsy, Darlene, Cathy, and Michelle; his best friends who never left his side Bella and Mongral.
Those who knew Terry knew someone who was always making jokes and bringing smiles to those around him. Terry enjoyed a laid-back country lifestyle, topped off with his cowboy boots and a straw cowboy hat. He enjoyed gardening, outside activities, and spending time with his wife and family. Terry was not only a husband, but also a Dad and Papaw. Zero was well known throughout the community and is deeply loved and cherished by his friends and family alike. He was always someone who had something up his sleeve, lovingly remembered as "old Indian tricks". He would make you believe the craziest stories, only to laugh at you when you finally figured out he was "pulling your leg". He would give someone the shirt off his back if they needed it. He literally went into a burning house to save his girls, thus making us think he was invincible. He wore those scars knowing that sacrifice saved the lives of his two little girls, and knowing if he had to do it again, he would without a second thought. At the end of the day, he was not invincible; he was a man who loved his family, loved his friends, and loved life. You could always find him hanging out with his best buddies Bella and Mongral. He opened his heart to the Lord in his last months. He told us he would be waiting outside the gates for us. What a day that will be!
A private service will be held at a later date.
