Terry A. Shields

Terry A. Shields, 60. A lifelong resident of Old Fort, TN passed away on Tuesday morning, December 22nd, 2015. Terry was born on November 6th, 1955 a son of the late W.C. “Dub” and Mary Ruth Prince Shields Rogers. Terry was a long time employee of Global Textiles in Dalton, GA. He was a classic car enthusiast. Terry was a loving brother, husband, father, but the title he wore most proudly was “Papaw” to his five grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by step father Roy Rogers, one brother Jerry Shields, grandparents Russell Lee Prince & Lavisha Prince and Genny Craig Shields and Walter Shields.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of thirty seven years Sheila Stewart Shields, one son Shane Shields and his wife Jessica, one daughter Heather Shields Falls and her husband Jason, five grandchildren Logan Falls, Callie Shields, Landon Falls, MaryBeth Shields & Lauren Falls, one sister Lorette Shelton (Emery), one brother Garry Shields (Tonya Darnell), one uncle Reverend Doyle Prince (Patsy), two aunts Ella Jean Shields and Josephine Swaggerty, numerous other extended family members, co-workers and special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday, December 27th, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Roger Stepp officiating. Interment will follow in the Moore’s Chapel Cemetery with Garry Shields, Emery Shelton, Jimmy Silvers, Patrick Shields, Jeremy Shields and Chris Shields serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, December 26th, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
