Terrence "Terry" Edward Cavett, 68, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in his home on May 29, 2026. He was born on November 18, 1957, to John and Bettye Cavett.
Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. For many years, he worked at The Towns Squire in Cleveland and from there he went on to be a car salesman, where his kind personality, warm smile, and genuine love for people served him well. He also faithfully taught Children's Sunday School for many years with his wife, Belinda, at Westwood Baptist Church, sharing his faith and making a lasting impact on those around him.
Terry was known by all who loved him as a kind, gentle, and faithful man. He was the peacekeeper of the family, always calm, steady, and quick to offer encouragement or bring people together. He never met a stranger and was deeply loved by all who knew him. His caring spirit and quiet presence touched countless lives.
Terry enjoyed spending time with family and friends, often sharing laughter over games of pool and ping pong, both of which he had quite a knack for. He loved listening to music and making memories with the people he cared about most. Terry was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to football and cheering on the Tennessee Vols and Tennesee Titans. He was a trivia wiz who loved game shows like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and always seemed to know the answer before anyone else. He had a special love for his dogs, Heaven and Foxx, who brought him great joy.
Above all, Terry loved his family and friends deeply. He treasured time spent with those closest to him and will be remembered for his unwavering love, quiet strength, gentle heart, and the laughter and memories he shared with so many.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Belinda Cavett; his parents, John D. Cavett and Bettye Wilson Cavett; and his brother, Tony Cavett.
Terry leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Angela Moody and her husband, Shaun, and Mandy Jackson and her husband, Nathan; grandchildren, Gabi Choate and her fiancé, Nick, Gracie Choate, Riley Jones, Pierse Jackson, and Pryce Jackson; sisters-in-law, Jena Cavett and Pam Parker; along with many extended family members and friends.
Terry's family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2026, in the Ridge Sanctuary of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 PM.
