Tanya Graham Fleury (barely age 70), began her first act in Dayton, Tennessee on June 10, 1956 and took her final bow in Chattanooga, Tennessee on June 21, 2026.
She is preceded in death by her parents Gene and Jeanne Graham and brother Clark. Tanya is survived by her sister-in-law, Rhonda Graham; brother, Billy (Janie); sisters Kelly and Tracie (Jim Cooley); and nieces and nephews: Tripp and Katie Graham (William, Lindsey, Ella), Scott and Tracie Miller (Sayler) and Sophie Cooley.
In order to celebrate Tanya’s life, you’ll need to be a bit dramatic. Support your local community theatre and wear hats with feathers. Enjoy a daiquiri ice freeze. Celebrate Christmas every day of the year. Find a hairdresser and manicurist that you want to see each week for the rest of your life (thank you Carrie, Shannon and crew!). Color your hair and wear red nail polish. Add the fake lashes.
Read a good book (read a lot of them). Be a little salty. Have nine lives. Watch the history channel, but with a measure of “The Steve Wilkos Show”. Eat lots of Mexican food. Love all things peacock, including but not limited to birds, colors, clothing, paintings, photos, hats, napkins and boxes (especially those with notes from special friends—thanks Theresa!).
Cheer on the Tennessee Volunteers (even in sports you swear you don’t like), argue with your car’s navigational system and prove it wrong every chance you get. Seek out the very best onion rings and tater tots. Remind yourself that you can do hard things. Join the No Kings protest. Vote.
Learn a second language, be a middle school teacher…but also a princess. Never ever throw anything away. Dance so much at your nephew’s wedding that you can’t walk the next day. Find yourself a college roommate and remain friends forever (thanks Kathy!).
In lieu of flowers, Tanya would want you to wear something festive, and go out for a nice steak dinner where you should order the appetizer as well as dessert, toast to her memory, then go home and put up your Christmas tree.
Many thanks to the excellent supporting cast of Signal Mountain Senior Living for your compassion, care and friendship during this final curtain.
