Susan "Jessie" Hawkins (Turner), age 63, passed away peacefully on January 10 at Parkridge Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on April 17, 1962, in Ventura, California, Jessie was the daughter of Jesse James Turner and Lura Veneta Turner. From the very beginning, she carried a bold spirit and a presence that filled every room she entered.

Jessie was a woman with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel known, welcomed, and heard. She always spoke her mind, and those who knew her loved her honesty, her strength, and her unforgettable laugh. Jessie lived life on her own terms, with authenticity and courage, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She worked for several years at Textron/Collins & Aikman and ABB, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Jessie's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children, Eric Witt and Jesse Thomas Hawkins. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Carter and Stephany Turner (Rebecca Rucker), and her brothers, Leslie Wynn Turner (Dana Renee Turner) and Marty Turner.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to her granddaughter, Destin Witt, and her grandson, Jace Pritchard (Hawkins), who brought her immense joy and pride.

Jessie will be remembered for her fierce love, her outspoken nature, her warmth, and the way she brought people together simply by being herself. Her legacy lives on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love she gave so freely.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
