Steven James Ross, 73 of Harrison, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026. He was born on January 16, 1953, in Los Angeles County, California. He served 3 years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Army, he returned to California where he worked at a wildlife reserve taking care of lions and tigers for several years. He then moved to Tennessee to be closer to his brother. He began working at Sam’s Club where he met his wife, Frances Ross. Shortly after they married, he started working for Arrow Exterminators where he retired after 20 years of service. In the later years of his life, Steve enjoyed going to church where he was involved in the men’s Bible study. He also liked fishing. He treasured time spent with his family and friends. He is lovingly remembered by all who knew him for his sense of humor, generous spirit, and genuine kindness. His warm personality and quick wit made it easy for him to talk to anyone and never meet a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ilene Deck; his wife of 25 years, Frances Everett Ross; brother, Paul Ross; and sister, Sandy Pape.
He is survived by his brother, Mike (Becky) Ross; daughters, Angie (Darryl) Quarles, Maria (Shawn) Carver, and Candice Grant; grandchildren, Ethan, Aaron, Meggan, April, Abby, Brianna, Matthew, and Thomas.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
