Stephanie Douglas Fletcher, 72, passed away on January 5, 2026, in Chattanooga, TN. Stephanie was born on March 12, 1953 in St. Louis, MO, to John and Carolyn Douglas.

Stephanie is survived by her devoted husband, William Fletcher, and her loving children, Allegra (Lawrence) Collier, Katie (Wes) Motsinger, John (Aerial) Fletcher, and Abby (Paul) Nicely. She was a cherished grandmother to Ainsley, Lawson, Wade, and Fletcher Collier, Will and Charlie Motsinger, Theodore and Linus Fletcher, and Cliff and Lily Nicely. She is also survived by her sister, Torey (Jim) Beavers and numerous close family members. Her family was always her greatest joy, and she found immense happiness in spending time with them whenever possible.

Stephanie graduated from Central High School in Knoxville, TN in 1971. She went on to earn an education degree from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1975 where she met her husband, Bill. A dedicated educator, Stephanie began her teaching career in Crestline, OH before moving back to Knoxville where she taught at Halls Elementary, Shannondale Elementary, and worked with Project GRAD. Stephanie spent her career inspiring countless students where her passion for teaching shone brightly.

During her lifetime, Stephanie was known for her love of the arts. She was an accomplished flutist and cherished her time at Interlochen music camp in Michigan. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine spirit have left a lasting impact on those who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Cindy McBride, and grandson Finn Fletcher.

In honor of her memory, a Celebration of Life will be held in Knoxville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Central High School Band, The Interlochen Center for the Arts, or a local arts or music program.
