Stacey David
Marney
May 11, 1984 – June 3, 2026
Stacey David Marney, age 42, of the Athens, Tennessee area, went home to be with the Lord after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 11, 1984, in Athens, Tennessee, to the late Jessie William Marney Sr. and Nina Mae Marney.
Stacey was a true country boy at heart. He found joy in the simple things, casting a fishing line, working on or riding motorcycles, and spending time outdoors. He attended church in Riceville, Tennessee, at Outreach for Calvary, where his faith continued to grow.
Above all else, Stacey's greatest love was his family. His heart belonged to his late wife, Pamela, with whom he shared more than 14 beautiful years. She was truly the love of his life, and the bond they shared was unbreakable. While her passing left a deep void in his life, there is comfort in knowing they are now reunited in Heaven, together once again.
In addition to his parents, Stacey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pamela; his brother, Jessie "Peanut" Marney Jr.; and his sister, Judy Marney.
He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Joshua "JJ" Galyon; Jessica Carroll (Rocky); Stephanie Recht (Travis); Ashley Harris (Keith); Kelly Richardson (Allen); and Katy Marney (Mikey). He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and his grandchildren brought immense joy and purpose to his life.
Stacey is also survived by his siblings, Ellen Rollins; Mikey Marney (Katy); Shannon Lloyd (Tim); and Linda Carroll (Earl). He will be deeply missed by his special friends and extended family, including Cindy Boyd and the Jones family, as well as many nieces, nephews, and loved ones whose lives he touched.
Stacey had a heart that overflowed with kindness, compassion, and generosity. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer a smile to someone in need. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and a sense of belonging to those around him. The love he gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Though he may be gone from this world, his memory will forever remain a guiding light to those who loved him. He will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever cherished.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Companion Funeral Home, either by phone or at any of their office locations, to assist with funeral expenses.
