Sherry Farrell Guffey, 74, of Niota, passed away peacefully at her home on July 3, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

A lifelong resident of McMinn County, Sherry co-owned The Floor Store of Athens alongside her husband, Glenn, and was well known in the community. She will be remembered for the life she built with her family and the many friendships she made throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Daphne Farrell.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 45 years, Glenn Guffey; her sons, Shawn Thompson and Michael Thompson; her brothers, Kenneth "Butch" Farrell and Tracy Farrell; along with many other cherished family members and friends.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Chattanooga of Athens for the compassionate care and support they provided to Sherry during her illness.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
