With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Scotty DeWayne Burton, age 50, of Georgetown, TN, passed away on February 27, 2026.
Scotty was a devoted husband, proud father and papa, beloved son, brother, and a cherished friend to many. He had a passion for rebuilding classic cars and took great pride in bringing them back to life. Above all, his greatest joy was his family. Nothing meant more to him than spending time with his grandbabies-taking them to the store, spoiling them with candy, and showering them with hugs and kisses. Scotty's love was generous and constant, and he never missed an opportunity to make those around him feel special.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 30 years, Misty Burton; his only daughter, Kaitlin (Zach) Davis; and his treasured grandchildren, Whitley Davis and Kolton Davis, whom he adored and loved to spoil. He is also survived by his parents, Wayne and Brenda Burton; his sister, Renea (Tony) Cain; his brother and best friend, Walter Burton; and several nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Welcoming him into Heaven are his nephews, Austin Cain and Randy Goforth; his special cousin and dear friend, Julie Gannaway; along with many other beloved family members and friends who have gone before him.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Ridge Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2412 Georgetown Rd. NW Cleveland, TN 37311. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Mark Johnson and Dale Britt.
Scotty's legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
