Sarah Louise Winters

Sarah Bates Winters, age 79, passed away on March 1, 2026.

Sarah was born in Athens, TN on January 28, 1947, and was raised in Tellico Plains, TN. She graduated from Tellico Plains High School in 1965; and married Jackie Winters in 1965. They moved to Maryville, TN in 1971 where she worked at and retired from Vulcan Materials.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Vannoy Bates, her husband Jackie Winters, and her sister Susie Bates Young.

She is survived by her twin sister Sandy Bates Hakooz (Samir); son Jeff Winters (Teresa); and daughter Jill Winters Fugate (Brian); her grandchildren Lauren Fugate Mould, Tyler Fugate (Marissa), Mallory Winters Davis (Matt), Lexie Winters (Jana Eatherly; great-grandchildren Brody, Macy, Sophia, Malia and Oakley Mould, Brayden and Ensley Fugate; her precious fur babies River and Raine; and many very special nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she dearly loved.

We will be having a drop in celebration of life March 14, 2026, from 2-4pm at 3536 Ridgeway Trail, Maryville TN 37801. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Association or Dementia Society.
