Sarah "Becky" Griessmann

Sarah Griessmann, 86, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on January 19, 2025. She was born to the late Nora Whitman and George Paynter on September 19, 1939 in West Virginia. Throughout her life Sarah travelled to Israel 3 times. She enjoyed reading her Bible any chance that she could. Sarah also enjoyed crocheting, and working puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Sarah is preceded in death by her siblings, Myra (Ruther) Turner, Fonn (Lawrence) Durham, Ken Paynter, Iris (Bob) Snyder, and Easter Paynter.

Sarah is survived by her son, Scott (Dotsy) Griessmann, daughter, Donna Jones, grandchildren, Danielle (Daniel) Spradling, Robert Jones, David Griessmann, Kristen Griessmann, siblings, Gayle (Jack) Brandenburg, Floyd (Donna) Paynter, Blenda (Gilbert) Trenum, Elizabeth (Carl) Lewis, sister-in-law, Judy Paynter, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 3:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Cleveland Chapel with Pastor Mitch Maloney officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Hiwassee Memorial Gardens.
