Sandra Civils Clariday

Sandra Civils Clariday, 74, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026. Sandra was born on July 2, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late William and Francis Civils.

A devoted educator for nearly four decades, Sandra dedicated 30 years of her life to serving as the library director at Tennessee Wesleyan College. Her love for books was surpassed only by her desire to inspire that same love in others. For Sandra, reading was not just a pastime; it was a gateway to knowledge, connection, and community. Her contributions to the academic world and her tireless efforts to nurture young minds will always be remembered.

Sandra had a rich life filled with cherished moments spent with her family. She was an avid book lover and engaged enthusiastically with her book club, the P.E.O. and the Seekers Circle. These gatherings were a true reflection of her friendships and her passion for sharing ideas and stories. A member of the First United Methodist Church, she found strength and solace in her faith and community.

Sandra leaves a legacy of love and kindness that will forever resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Steve Clariday; her beloved daughter, Margie Ginn; and her cherished grandson, Jude Ginn, along with a host of extended family and friends who will honor her memory and celebrate her remarkable life.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 26, 2026 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at First united Methodist Church in the Narthex.
