Ruth Webb Cornett

Ruth Webb Cornett, 88, a resident of Athens, TN passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at her home. She was born in McMinn County on February 19, 1931.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jim & Minnie Webb, husband William Bill Cornett, daughter Patricia Apolinar, son Gary Cornett, one great granddaughter Christie Ferguson Coleman, two sisters Betty Bandy and Ruby Smith and six brothers Robert, Lake, Grady, Bill, Junior “Bug” and John Webb.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two granddaughters Angela Hicks and husband David “Beazer” and Cheryl Richesin and companion Ronnie Collier, one grandson Jeff Swafford, daughter in law Jane Smith, several great grandchildren and numerous other extended family members. Ruth is also survived by several special friends that help assist with her care during her illness James “Fatti” & Becky Franklin, Timothy “Little Tim” James, Venessa Berkenbila, Brandon & Andrea Buckaloo Gossett, Brandi & Joy Smith and Erin Johnson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM in the Athens Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. A service celebrating her life will conclude the visitation time at 2:00 PM. The interment and committal service will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery with family and friends service as pallbearers.
