Russell Jones

Russell "Rusty" Jones, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and devoted fisherman at heart, passed away on July 4, 2025, in Etowah, Tennessee. He was born on March 8, 1960, to his mother, Olive Wright, who often said he was a handful - but always with a quick wit and an infectious laugh that brightened every room.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Olive and Step-father, Howard, who both raised Rusty; his father, James Jones; and brothers, Jack and Danny. 

Rusty is survived by his loving children, Heather Almond (Scott) and Justin Jones (Kaelynd), who will forever cherish his offbeat humor and generous spirit. He also leaves behind four grandchildren - Samantha, Matthew, Raelynn, and Easton - along with three brothers, three sisters, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his warmth and laughter.

Rusty had a talent for lifting spirits, known for delivering the perfect joke at just the right moment, even during his hardest days battling cancer. Whether by the water with a fishing pole or gathered around loved ones, he brought light and laughter to all who knew him.

Though his absence is deeply felt, we find comfort in imagining him in a place of peace - a line cast into calm waters, a cold beer in hand, and a smile on his face.

He will be missed beyond measure.
