Ruby Brown

Ruby Jean Brown, 79, of Turtletown, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2026, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Born on June 29, 1946, in Ducktown, Tennessee, Ruby Jean was the daughter of thelate Warren (Ferg) G. Long and Jimmie McNabb Long.

She worked for several years at the Copper Basin Nursing Home. Ruby was a woman of devoted faith and known for her kindness and generosity. 

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elizabeth (Betsy) Long Smith, nephew Joseph (Kyle) Ballew and James Cherry.

She is survived by her son Sam Brown, granddaughter Kristen Brown Gregory (Thomas), three great grandchildren, her siblings, Kathy Cherry and Susie (Joe) Ballew, and brother-in-law Jeff Smith.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
