Roy Walter Green, 85, of Charleston, TN passed away on June 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 25, 1937 to the late Elmer and Oley Green. Walter served in the Army & National Guard for a total of 13 years. He loved being outdoors, building campfires and spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting with his son and grandsons and was known as “Mayor of the Dock” by many at B&B Marina, where he had a houseboat for 35 years. Walter was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of nearly 64 years; Maxine Green; son Brian Green; daughter Sonya Planzer (Richard) of Dalton, GA; grandchildren: Alex Green (Rayven) and Austin Green; great grandchildren: Rosalie, Rylie, Ronnie. He also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends.
Walter’s family will receive friends at Companion Funeral Home from 2pm to 4pm on Friday June 17th with a Celebration of Life Service to follow the visitation at 4pm. He will be laid to rest following the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
