Ronnie Brown, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, July 12, 2026, on his 83rd birthday.

Ronnie lived a life defined by service, leadership, and devotion to Tennessee Football. He was a graduate of Lakeview High School, Class 62, and later graduated from the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga after returning home from the war. He was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps and served as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. His commitment to duty and country remained a guiding force throughout his life. During his military service, he earned numerous commendations and awards, including recognition as a Sharpshooter, Good Conduct Medal, and National Defense Service Medal, reflecting his dedication, discipline, and excellence.

Following his military career, Ronnie continued his legacy of service in Rossville/Catoosa County. He served as the Catoosa County Director for Storm Water Planning & Zoning before assuming the role of Catoosa County Manager. In both positions, he worked tirelessly to support the growth and well-being of the community he loved. His professionalism, vision, and commitment to public service earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues, elected officials, and citizens alike.

Ronnie was proud of his accomplishments in service and leadership. He will be remembered for his strength, sense of humor, and steadfast dedication.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin R. and Thelma Brown, and by his wives, Phyllis Brown and Ann Brown.

He is survived by his brother, Ricky Brown, married to Greta, their two children, Justin, married to Talitha, and their son Chase. Courtney Williams married to Nolan Williams, with 2 sons, Orrin and Orson; his daughter, Stephanie Austin, and husband Stephen Austin; their daughter, Abigail Austin; his stepdaughter, Tracie Gibbons, and husband Tim Gibbons; and their son, Conner Gibbons. Connor served as Ronnie's caregiver during his final years. He is also survived by extended family members and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Ronnie's life was a testament to service-service to his country and his community. His legacy will continue through the many lives he touched and the example he set for future generations.

The family will hold a private graveside service at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at the end of July, where military honors will be rendered in recognition of Ronnie's faithful service to the United States Marine Corps.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, whose compassionate care and support brought comfort to Ronnie and his family.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers, kindness, and support during this difficult time.
