Robert Anthony "Tony" Tinsley, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 2, surrounded by his loving family.
Tony was a devoted Christian whose faith guided his life and relationships. He found great joy in boating, golfing, and riding his motorcycle, and he treasured the time he spent with family and friends. He retired from Duracell Battery after more than 30 years of dedicated service.
A faithful member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church for 36 years, Tony served in many roles, including choir director, treasurer, and Sunday school teacher. His commitment to his church and community left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Dorthella Tinsley, and his brother, Keith Tinsley.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Linda Tinsley. He also leaves behind his children, Robert Shane Tinsley; Shalan (Mack) Beasley; Darion (Renee) Leamon; and Daniel (Samantha) Leamon. He is fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Marcus (Winter) Tinsley; Nathan (Amber) Draper; Austin (Amanda) Draper; Shelby (Brad) Long; Abigail Beasley; Tyler (Lauren) Leamon; Alex and Austin Almazon; Alesha Phillips; Luke and Evan Leamon; Elijah Pierce; Isaiah; Hannah Grace; and Avigail Hinsch.
He was also blessed with many great-grandchildren, including Melody, Surah, Alice, Onna, Bradley, Gracelynn, Zala, Lillie, Judah, Raylynn, Kamden, Caiden, Carter, Brody, Harley, and Sammy.
In addition, he is survived by his sister, Jackie (Dan) Ownby, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Ridge Sanctuary.
A Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 2:00 pm, at Clover Leaf Baptist Church, with pastor Steve Corbin officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Short Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Tony will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
