Robert Lynn Swartout, 86, of Birchwood, Tenn. Left this world on Friday, July 15th, 2022 to join his God in heaven.
Mr. Swartout was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and was preceded in death by first wife, Carol Swartout, his parents, Myrtle Swartout and James L Swartout; his sisters, Dean Houchin and Ginger Winketer, bother James C Swartout and Stepson Jordan Tolson.
He was a member of Gamble Road Baptist Church of Birchwood and serve as Grand Master at Harrison Masonic lodge #114. He was also a United States Marine Corp Veteran. Retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 30-year service.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Swartout, Birchwood; four children, Ron Swartout of Soddy-Daisy, Saundra Chastain of East Brainerd, Bobby Swartout of Trion, Ga. And Troy Swartout of Birchwood; Five stepchildren: Deborah Holt, Donna Cummings, Denna Mintz, Steven Tolson, Joshua Tolson; 32 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 20 Great-great grandchildren; sister, Pat Lawson of Chattanooga, brother, Gilbert Swartout of Athens, Tenn.
Celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday August 6 th at Gamble Road Baptist Church, 11703 Dolly Pond Rd, Birchwood Tn, 37308. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests to send donations to Adoration Hospice, C/O Donation 2765 Executive Park Drive, NW Cleveland Tn, 37312
