Robert "Bob" Warren Gaither

Robert "Bob" Gaither, age 75, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on September 5, 2026.

Bob was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, faithful friend, and a man whose kindness, humor, and willingness to help others touched countless lives.

Bob leaves behind his beloved wife, Pamela "Pam" Gaither. Bob and Pam built a life together filled with love, faith, family, and an extraordinary compassion for animals. Their home and farm at Serenity Hill became a haven for animals in need. Together, they rescued, cared for, and gave a home to countless animals over the years. Their love for animals was much more than a hobby-it was a mission and a reflection of the generous and selfless hearts with which they lived their lives.

Bob held an especially tender place in his heart for his dogs: Shadow, Bear, Soxx, Luca, Raya, Fritter, and Luna. Anyone who spent much time with Bob could count on hearing a story about one of his animals.

For the past seven years, Bob worked in maintenance for local rental properties, where he became far more than the man people called when something needed fixing. Tenants, coworkers, property owners, and friends came to know and love him. Bob was hardworking, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand. He never met a stranger and rarely arrived or left without sharing a joke or a funny story.

His sons affectionately referred to him as the "King of Corn," a fitting title for a man who could always be counted on for a good corny joke. His sense of humor was simply part of who Bob was, and those who loved him will undoubtedly be repeating his jokes-and smiling at the memory-for many years to come.

Above all, Bob took tremendous pride in being a father. He loved his sons deeply and was incredibly proud of the men they became and all they accomplished. Family meant everything to him.

Bob also deeply loved his church family at Community Fellowship and treasured his relationship with Pastor Bruce Underwood and his wife, Amanda. His faith in the Lord was an important part of his life.

Perhaps one of the most remarkable things about Bob was his contentment. He was a happy man, and he wanted you to know it. It was rare to spend any amount of time with Bob without hearing him tell you just how happy he was. He did not merely say it-you could see it. He wore a smile on his face, seldom complained, and seemed genuinely grateful for the life God had given him.

Those who knew Bob will remember his smile, his jokes, his stories, his love for his family and animals, his strong work ethic, his giving heart, and his willingness to help anyone who needed him. His sudden passing leaves an enormous emptiness in the lives of those who loved him, but it also leaves behind countless happy memories of a life well lived and a man well loved.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Pamela "Pam" Gaither; his sons, Josh Gaither, Jacob Gaither, Caleb Gaither and his wife, Angela, and Seth Gaither, all of Knoxville, TN and Matthew Gaither of Cleveland, TN; his daughters, Brittnee Stephenson and her husband, Sean Carter and Shasta Bain and her husband, Jimmy Bain,; his granddaughter, Olivia Gaither; his brothers, Michael Gaither David Bennet and Mark Bennet; his sister, Marcia Gradinger and step sister, Sheryl Shipley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Terry Langford; step sister, Sammie Locke.

Celebration of Life

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Community Fellowship, Thursday, September 10, 2026. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There will be no graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bob's family to assist with final expenses.

Bob's life can perhaps best be remembered in the way he so often described it himself:

"He was happy."

And everyone who knew Bob could see that he truly was.
