Robert Michael Dwyer, known by his friends as "Mike", peacefully passed away in his home in Old Fort, TN on July 14, 2026 at the age of 68.
Mike was born December 9, 1957 in Chicago, IL to Virginia Robertson and Louis Dwyer. He was the youngest of five children and last surviving sibling of brothers John Pesek and Arthur Dwyer and sisters Linda Cantron and Brenda Dwyer.
In the summer of 1981, Mike relocated his young family from Cleveland, OH to Cleveland, TN where he would live out the remaining years of his life. Mike eventually purchased property in Old Fort, TN and personally built a home that eventually housed his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Mike was a steadfast Christian and a member of Shenandoah Baptist Church in Cleveland, TN. Mike loved the Lord, and that love emanated throughout his life and touched many others. Mike enjoyed his family, going to church, watching football, and his dog "Roscoe", an energetic German Shepherd who became Mike's loyal companion.
Mike is survived by his four children, Dawn Emmert-Tate of Old Fort, TN, Joseph (Kimberly) Dwyer of Penhook, VA, Nicholas Dwyer of Old Fort, TN, and Corrin (Scott) Fulton of Apison, TN, 8 grandchildren Cameron Dwyer (Shaylynne Carringer), Madison Tate, Alexzander Dwyer, Liam Fulton, Samuel Fulton, Jacqueline Dwyer, Savannah Dwyer, and Rowan Dwyer, great-grandchild Nicholas Dwyer, as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at Shenandoah Baptist Church on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
You are invited to share a personal memory of Mike or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland and the Cody family are honored to assist the family with these arrangements.
