Rita Carol Packett

Rita was born April 14th, 1954 at Fort Benning Georgia Army Base to Daniel Carol Holt and Edna Louise Holt (Evans) and passed away on March 13th, 2026. She had a very outgoing personality that often seemed larger than life. Rita always loved the outdoors, animals, and being with friends. She was a graduate of McMinn Central High School and Cleveland State Community College.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents.

Survivors include her brother, Herman Lynn Holt and wife, Kathy; sons, Daniel Philip Corn and wife, Sarah and Timothy Heath Corn and wife, Roxanne; grandsons, Dakota Hall, Keeley Hanson and wife, Courtney, and Micah Hanson; great grandchildren, Jonah Hanson and Andre Randell; and nephews, aunts and numerous cousins.

As per her final wishes, there will be no official services beyond cremation and a small gathering to remember her and spread her ashes at a later time. She requested that instead of flowers, please donate to a local animal shelter in her memory. Any cards that anyone would like to send can be sent to Timothy Corn at 985 Forest Dr SE, Cleveland, TN, 37323. They will be read at her remembrance gathering for all to hear.
