Rita J. Horne

Rita J. Horne, 58, passed away on April 4, 2025. Rita was born to the late Betty Laney and Ronnie Holloway on August 4, 1966.

Rita loved spending time with her husband, kids, grandchildren and family. She enjoyed camping, and sitting in her rocking chair that she recieved as a gift from her dear friend Danny Whitmire. she enjoyed the company and help she recieved from Danny Whitmire, Michael Parks, and Phyllis Cross. The family would like to extend a special thanks to those individuals.

In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by her step-father, Larry Laney, son, Isaiah Horne, and her in-laws, Nellie and Winfred "Eugene" Horne.

Rita is survived by her husband, Gary Ray Horne, children, Amanda Couch (Matthew Johnston) and Gary Lee Horne (Amber Ward), grandchildren, Nevaeh Horne, Haleigh Couch, Mariah Johnston, Caiden Johnston, Braiden Couch, Aiden Flerl, Annabell Horne, and Alex Horne, in-laws, Melvin Horne and Tina Johnson, niece, Tiffany Johnson, nephew, Bubba Horne, and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 5:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Cleveland Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Ledford officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm prior to the service.
