Ricky Johnson, age 62, passed away on April 24, 2026. He was born on December 9, 1963, and will be remembered for his love of family, the outdoors, and the simple joys of life.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, William Johnson; his biological mother, Christine Payne; his stepmother, Louise Hicks; his step-brothers, Robert "Bobo" Lawson and Billy Johnson; his step-sister, Donna Barbee; his grandparents, Bill Johnson and Minnie Bell Johnson; his mother-in-law, Viola Swann; his father-in-law, James Swann; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pam and David Russell.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Tammy Johnson; his sons, Joseph (Joy) Johnson and William "Tubby" Johnson; his sister, Brenda Shook (Scott Grady); nieces, Keisha Carringer and Patricia Cardona; his grandson, Leelann Johnson; and his granddaughters, Emmalee Johnson and Eva Johnson. He is also survived by his step-sister, Judy Allison; step-brother, James Lawson; step-sister, Jessie Hunt; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tommy and Tammy Swann; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Debbie Russell; as well as special cousins, Kathy Roberts and Debbie Harden.
Ricky enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and making memories with his grandson, Leelann. He loved going on special rides and sharing adventures with his best friend, Wayne Bishop, and treasured the time spent with his special friend, Fuzzy Cross.
The family will have a visitation on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with the memorial service following officiated by David Hicks at Companion Funeral Home, The Cleveland Chapel, located at 2415 Georgetown Rd. NW, Cleveland, TN 37311.
