Rickey Donovan Ratcliff, born February 11, 1959, passed away on March 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories that will live on in the hearts of his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Ratcliff, and his mother, Carol T. Lanham.

Rickey had a lifelong passion for dirt bikes and could often be found riding or racing whenever he had the chance. He loved building and rebuilding motors-especially his beloved "hot rods"-and took great pride in working with his hands. One of his proudest accomplishments was rebuilding a Chevy Nova alongside his son, Davis, creating not just a car, but a lasting memory.

An avid outdoorsman, Rickey enjoyed fishing and spent countless hours on fishing trips with his son, Corey. The lake was one of his favorite places to be, especially when surrounded by family. He also loved gardening, a skill passed down from his mother, and he carried that tradition with pride. In his younger days, he enjoyed playing frisbee and staying active, always embracing life with energy and enthusiasm.

He taught both of his sons how to ride dirt bikes, passing down not just a skill, but his adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.

Rickey is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joy Head Ratcliff, who was truly the light of his life and the steady force that kept him going. The two of them shared a love that was deep, enduring, and unmistakable. They could bicker with the best of them-often over the smallest things-but anyone who knew them understood it was simply part of their rhythm. Beneath the playful back-and-forth was a bond built on loyalty, laughter, and a love that never wavered.

He is also survived by his sons, Blake Donovan Bohannon (Briana Bohannon), Davis Head (Haleigh Head), and Corey H. Ratcliff (Elizabeth Ratcliff); his brother, Michael Ratcliff; and his sister, Susan Cooper.

His greatest joy was his grandchildren: Kinley Head, Weston Head, Lenox Bohannon, Blakely Bohannon, Easton Ratcliff, Emory Ratcliff, Hannah Snyder, and Heidi Snyder, as well as his great-grandson, Krue Burgess. Each of them held a special place in his heart.

Rickey will also be remembered for his strong will and quick wit. He could be wonderfully stubborn-especially if he believed he was right-and more often than not, he probably was. His sense of humor kept those around him laughing, and even in the most ordinary moments, he had a way of bringing a smile to your face.

He will be remembered for his hardworking hands, his protective nature, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the laughter he shared so freely.
