Richard Thomas

Richard Lee Thomas, 51, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on October 3, 2025.

Born on October 13, 1973, in Calhoun, Georgia, Richard was a 1991 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He worked for many years in the food service industry, most recently as a manager at KFC, where he was known for his dedication, leadership, and strong work ethic.

Richard was the kind of person who could make anyone laugh. His hilarious personality, deep love for his family, and incredible resilience made him someone people loved to be around. He found joy in the simple things-working on his cars, spending time outside or in his garage, and taking trail rides in his Jeep. He also enjoyed snowboarding and was always up for an adventure. A true Tennessee Vols fan, Richard loved listening to a wide range of music, from rap and old country to 90s alternative and gospel.

He is survived by his mother, Fran Thomas; his fiancée, Keysha Duncan; his son, Drake Thomas; his daughters, Mariah Thomas and Hannah Scoggins; and his former wife, Moniko Thomas, the mother of Mariah and Hannah. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Alice Thomas, Adelaide Ratterman, Henry Renz, and Elliana Rumph; his daughter Mariah's fiancé, Zachary Rumph; and his siblings, Julie Jones (Jeff Jones), Misty Gilmer (Kent Gilmer), Sonya Conner (Mike Conner), and Stacy Thomas. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces whom all loved him dearly.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Thomas, and his nephews, Kyle Conner and Justin Conner.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Companion Funeral Home in Cleveland, Tennessee, with a funeral service to follow.

Richard will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
