Richard John Sweatt

September 23, 1978 — July 3, 2025

Richard John Sweatt, age 46, was unexpectedly found deceased on July 3rd, 2025, Thursday evening in Dade County, Georgia. He was born on September 23rd, 1978, in Colebrook New Hampshire where he was born and raised before moving to Trenton Georgia about 17 years ago.

He was a father to three children, Chrystian Butler being the eldest, Jack Sweatt and Jaylin Sweatt. He was also a brother to four siblings, Angela Sweatt being the eldest, Shane Sweatt, Aaron Sweatt and Jennifer Sweatt. His memory continues to live and thrive with the numerous nieces and nephews he has.

Richard was a laid back, go with the flow type of person who enjoyed going out on his bike for a joy ride whether it be a solo ride or with someone. Majority of his rides were alongside his significant other Dorothy, who loved and supported him through everything. Or riding with his favorite human Anastasia Sweatt. He was and will forever be a kind, gentle, loving person who had so much love to give. Any downtime he had was spent with family, or out with his best friend Cameron, or alongside Cameron's wife Edie and their three children, who gave him his nickname "Richie".

He left behind a legacy of love, strength and kindness, he made a big impact on so many lives. He was more than just a son and brother, he was a father, an uncle, a protector, a role model, a friend. Our reminder of him will never fade, it will be all around us in every road we travel down, every turn we take, the people we see around us and every memory we carry of him. There will never be a day that goes by where he isn't with us, the love he gave us has no destination.

A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 19th, 2025, from 12pm-3pm at the Companion Funeral & Cremation Service, 6018 John Douglas Drive, Chattanooga Tennessee 37421.
