Richard "Dickie" Alford

Dickie Alford, age 86 of Charleston, departed this life on Tuesday morning, May 24, 2022 at a local healthcare facility. Born on December 7, 1935 to the late French and Lucille Alford, Dickie was a native and lifelong resident of Bradley County , and was retired from Bowater and the State of Tennessee, served as a Constable in Bradley County, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a member of Charleston United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife Jane Alford; grandson, Spencer Alford; and brother, Sonny Alford.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Wesley Alford (Brenda), Lee Ann Swindle(Ray), and Gincy Brewster(John); grandchildren, Lloyd Swindle, Lauren Alford, Kala Swindle, Kile Brewster, and Maxwell Brewster ;great-grandchildren, Ellison and Elliott Bradford ; as well as several extended family members and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life for Richard Lee Alford “ Dickie” will be held at 7p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2022 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Rutledge officiating.
A Graveside service will be held at 11 AM Friday , May 27, 2022 at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 pm until the funeral hour.
