Richard "Rick" Cornett

Richard "Rick" Lee Cornett, age 76, of Etowah, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 10, 2025. A lifelong resident of McMinn County, Rick was known for his deep love of the outdoors and his unwavering dedication to public service.

Rick was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in hunting and fishing. He proudly served his community for many years with the McMinn County Sheriff's Department and later retired from the Etowah City Police Department.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 38 years, Pam Cornett; his parents, Warren and Mamie Cornett; his daughter, Christie Johnson; brothers Warren and Willis Cornett; and sisters Frankie Sue Bohannon, Vickie Ellen Dawson, and Kathy Wilson.

Rick is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Tina Cornett; grandchildren Colin Cornett, Abbey Delay, Bubba Delay, Miracle Wilcox, and Braedyn Wilcox. He also leaves behind cherished friends including Terry Bowers, Danny Jones, Matt Blair, and many others who held a special place in his heart.

Rick will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the kindness he showed to those around him.
