Richard D. Brown, 81, passed away April 6, 2026. He was born March 28, 1945, son of the late William Carter and Edith (Harris) Brown, in Dexter, MI.
Richard would serve his country in the US Air Force, where he would receive pilot training and secure his pilot license. Returning to Michigan after the Air Force, he would begin his own business in the brick and stone mason field, where he would excel as a well-respected artisan.
After meeting his wife, he would relocate to Birchwood, TN where they would spend 25 great years. They made many sweet memories traveling and exploring on his Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Richard leaves his wife Karen; Brother & Sister-in-law, Keith (Stephanie) Bettis; Sister-in-Law, June Ramey; two nieces, Debbie Triplett and Emily Howell, all of Birchwood, TN.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his niece, Mandy Triplett. Also, his best friend and constant companion, fur-baby, Barkley, who passed February 4, 2026.
The family wishes to express our gratitude to the amazing staff of Story Point of Red Bank and Hospice of Chattanooga for their unbelievable compassion and care throughout this last year. Also, Dr. Jim Lane for all the kindness and Prayers.
To all the many friends that have covered us with Prayers, calls and visits over his six-year illness with Alzheimer's, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
In honor of Richard's wishes, there will be no service.
The Companion team is honored to serve the Brown family with these arrangements,
