Rick Rybak, 66

Came into this world June 6, 1954.

If you knew Rick, you know the last thing he would want is an obituary. He was a quiet strength in life and hated being in the spotlight, having any attention drawn to himself.

So, think of this as a love letter.

If you knew Rick, you already know Jill was his wife for 41 years, Brynn & Tucker were his children, and Hunter was his precious grandson. It is hard to believe in this day and time, but we all had the same last name, Rybak.
His parents, Joe Sr. and Pauline and brother Joe Jr. went before him to help prepare a place for him with his Heavenly Father. Two sisters, Sharon (Edward) Harrison and Paula “PJ” (Marc) Britt as well as one nephew, Scott Harrison, who remain here to miss and love him.

If you knew Rick, you already know his entire family of in-laws loved him dearly; Tom and Jerry Dye, Leslie Hill, and Lara (Todd) Davidson. Niece and nephews, Jake & Adam, who Rick used to make breakfast for on Christmas mornings; and Kyle & Kara all thought he was pretty cool…for a grownup.

If you knew Rick, you already know his best friend since 5th grade was Rick Boyd. It was fate, this friendship, and NEVER was there EVER a stronger bond.

If you knew Rick, you already know he was a talented craftsman who could build everything from jewelry boxes to exquisite pieces of furniture to homes. One of the many blessings God gave him was natural abilities and growing up in a generation surrounded by some of the best teachers of this dying art. There was nothing he could not do and do well.

If you knew Rick, you already know he was a good man, a good husband, father and grandfather; a good son and brother. I think our grandson, Hunter, said it best when he said, “He was the best Pop Pop EVER!”.

If you knew us, you may still not know this was our song…

“You’re Still The One”

Looks like we made it
Look how far we've come, my baby
We might’ve took the long way
We knew we'd get there someday
They said, "I bet they'll never make it"
But just look at us holding on
We're still together still going strong
(You're still the one)
You're still the one I run to
The one that I belong to
You're still the one I want for life
(You're still the one)
You're still the one that I love
The only one I dream of
You're still the one I kiss goodnight…
