Reva Joyce Nix, a cherished little lady known for her loving, caring, and beautiful personality, walked into the arms of Jesus on July 29, 2025. She was born on January 28, 1949, in the mountains of Copperhill, Tennessee. The world was blessed with the life of this sweet woman for 76 years.
Reva met her beloved of 57 years when she was 15 years old, Homer Nix. Before getting married, she worked at a sewing factory in Farner, Tennessee. They started their lives together by moving to Cleveland, Tennessee, where she became a full-time homemaker.
Their family first welcomed Pamela Renee Nix into the world, followed by Paul Christopher Nix, and they rounded off their family with Thomas Michael Nix.
Reva was the most joy-filled when she was with her family, but that was closely followed by working in her gardens and mowing her yard. Her water gardens were featured in magazines, and she also hosted 4-H tours displaying her hard work and the greenest of thumbs.
Reva touched many lives during her time at Spring Place Church of God of Prophecy. Her cross-stitching and flowers were adored by the women there. She was a strong christian woman who taught her kids and then her grandkids about the love of Jesus.
They enjoyed going on rides up to the mountains to visit family and childhood friends. It is unlikely that there is an antique store that the two of them have not visited. Homer built her dream house for her, which she quickly filled with her personality through antiques and decor. They had days spent gardening and mowing the grass, followed by evenings spent sitting on the porch, winding down. She loved watching her birds flutter in from the sweet little hummingbirds to the beautiful cardinals. She could spend hours watching them enjoy the elegant oasis she built.
As life carried on, she found herself engulfed in love for her grandchildren. That season started with Walker Bryan Geren, followed by Sydni Ryan Geren, followed by Brooke Hensley Nix, and rounded off with Cameron Michael Nix. She loved sitting on the porch watching them live life and spending quality time with them. Anything from them running around in a towel pinned as a cape, riding the 4X4 through the yard, and working on their truck, she was right amid all the adventures. Reva enjoyed hunting treasures in the backyard with Walker, riding in the Kawasaki Mule with Sydni, playing tea party with Brooke, and watching Cameron work on his truck and riding four-wheelers.
Homer and Reva were high school sweethearts. They shared a love deeper than any valley, and higher than any mountain, right up to the moment she took her last breath, with her hand wrapped in his.
Reva is preceded in death by William Alvin Ledford (Father) and Eva Inez Payne (Mother). She is survived by William Homer Nix (Husband), William Anthony "Tony" Ledford (Brother), Naomi Etoise Towl (Sister), Dennis Ray Ledford (Brother), Windom Reid Ledford (Brother), Pamela Renee Geren (Daughter), Timothy Bryan Geren (Son-In-Law), Paul Christopher Nix (Son), Thomas Michael Nix (Son), Jessica Michelle Nix (Daugher-In-Law), Walker Bryan Geren (Grandson), Breanna Lauren Geren (Granddaughter-In-Law), Sydni Ryan Geren (Granddaughter), Brooke Hensley Nix (Granddaughter), and Cameron Michael Nix (Grandson).
