Raymond "Ray" Lewis Aliff, 80, of Athens, TN went to be with the Lord on July 6, 2026.

First and foremost, Ray was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all his heart. His faith was the foundation of his life, and he faithfully shared that love for Christ with his family, especially his daughters, leaving them a lasting legacy of faith.

Ray dedicated the majority of his life to the grocery business. He began his career at just 15 years old as a bag boy and, through years of hard work and dedication, went on to own his own grocery store and manage several others throughout his career. He spent the last 20 years managing Butler and Bailey Market in Knoxville. His strong work ethic and commitment to serving his community defined much of his life's work.

Outside of his career, Ray enjoyed shooting, reloading ammunition, and was a member of the Chilhowee Rod and Gun Club. He also loved spending time on the golf course. Above all else, he treasured his family. They were the center of his life, and the time he spent with them brought him his greatest joy. He especially loved being "Daddy Ray" and "Paw Paw" to his grandsons, Ian and Noah.

Preceded in death by his parents Conrad and Evelyn Aliff; sister, Nancy Bolick; and brother, Conrad "Bud" Aliff.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Brenda Aliff; daughters, Dawn (Michael) Moore and Amanda (Jeremy) Bliss; grandsons, Ian Moore and Noah Bliss; and brother, David Aliff and many other loved family and friends.

The family will hold a private family memorial at a later date.

You are encouraged to share a memory of Ray and extend your condolences to his family by visiting his memorial page and guestbook at
