Listen to Obituary

Polly Angela (Ann) Ledford McClure, age 63, of Cleveland, TN passed away on Nov. 5, 2025.

She was the daughter of James and Stella Ledford and was the youngest of four siblings. Polly grew up in the Black Fox community and graduated from Bradley High School where she was an active FFA member and FFA officer. She was an early member of the Volunteer Fire Department serving in the Valley View Community. She was a previous employee of Hickory Springs. She was manager at Becky's Discount Shoe Store in Cleveland. She was a former member of Black Fox United Methodist Church and Bethel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Michael (Mike) W. McClure; parents James C. & Stella M. (Triplett) Ledford; brother Harry A. Ledford; sister in-law Karen Fowler; and great niece Savannah M. Cooper.

Survivors to cherish her memory include brothers, Thomas (Diana) Ledford, Richard (Cheryl) Ledford; sister-in-law Hilda Ledford; nieces, Heather (Kenny) Simmons, Christal Watson, Paula (Rob) Robb, Alison (Jacob) Young, Jamie (Aaron) Bird, Angela (Marty) Hicks, Lynnette Thomison, nephews, Allen (Tammy) Ledford; and

Cody Fowler; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Along with her special friend, Terry Earwood.

She enjoyed riding motorcycles, long drives in the mountains and trying new restaurants they would come across. Her hobbies consisted of showing cattle, gardening, sewing, and working on trucks & cars. She worked alongside her brothers on the family farm and always prepared a delicious pecan pie and cornbread from Mama's secret recipe for family gatherings. She always made time to visit friends and co-workers.

Polly Ann had faith that could move mountains. She unselfishly cared for her mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's until her passing in 2009. As a family, we truly believe she was an angel sent to earth. We are grateful and blessed to have had her as a part of our family. Aunt Polly was loved and cherished by all her nieces and nephews. She was not judgmental and had the ability to see the good in all persons. She was exceptional in everything she did. This was reflected until her last breath.

One of the last things she said was, "I am so loved!" and that was absolutely true! She will be greatly missed. However, she carried her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ with her everywhere she went. This was reflected in the way she lived her life.

Psalms 52:8, "But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love for ever and ever."
