Phillip Arthur Douglas

Phillip Arthur Douglas a resident of Chattanooga, TN passed away early Saturday November 16, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He Volunteered for service in the United States Army serving 3 tours in Vietnam receiving various citations. He worked for Ford Motor company, Louisville Ladder and owned Phil’s Diner. He enjoyed cooking and gardening, spending many hours tending his plants and preparing meals until health prevented.
He is preceded in death by his parents William & Maude Douglas.
He spent his final years in the company of longtime companion Ernestine Meadows and her son Donald Meadows, who considered him as family. He was very much loved and will be missed. He is survived by 4 children, Jennice Marie, Clifton Lee, Catherine Frances and Melissa, one brother Rudy, several grandchildren, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
There will no public services at this time. Companion Funeral Home has charge of his cremation arrangements.
