Philip Anthony Mooney, III, 63, passed away on April 3, 2026, in Kodak, TN.
Philip was born on August 29, 1962 in Mobile, AL, to Philip A. Mooney, Jr. and Rosalind Harper Mooney Hall, who have since passed. He is also preceded in death by his son, Philip Anthony Mooney, IV, and youngest brother, Darrell Foster.
He is survived by his wife Lisa Mooney; his sons James, Matthew (Anna,) and Christopher; his stepfather Gene Hall; his brother David Mooney and sister-in-law Marie; and sister Denise Baker. As well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and numerous extended family members.
As a very young man, Philip served admirably in the U.S. Army as a Tank Driver. After separating from the service, he went to work offshore in the Gulf of America as an Able-bodied Seaman. In a few short years, he earned his Captains license where he continued to work on various ships around the world for more than thirty six years.
His kindness and generosity left a lifelong impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed, but his life and legacy will be honored by all who knew and loved him.
A private service will be held at his home where his ashes will be scattered on the land he cherished.
